6/14/08:
I messed up last month my failing to realize that Nietzsche also had Bo
Diddley on his list. This vaults him solidly into first place with 115
total points. Nobody guessed the potential dark horse Tim Russert who
died unexpectedly yesterday at age 58. Such a waste (not just of points,
you evil men!) 6/8/08: June is turning out to be the unknown pervert's month, as Jim McKay suffers the agony of defeat and Bo Diddley, also in his list, plays his last tune. 35 additional points go to the UP and 21 to professorwolf (who also had Diddley), tying them for 3rd place behind nietzsche and Harri Patel. 6/1/08: After an embarrassing showing in 2007's death pool, Nietzsche is slowly creeping to the top, earning another 19 points as the only player to pick Harvey Korman. I thought he died a long time ago. 5/28/08: It's been a slow year. I guess that's good for the elderly and ailing, but not so good for the competitors of this game. This week we've seen some much needed action with the death of fellow Hoosier native Sydney Pollack on 5/26/08, scoring nietzsche and Harri Patel 27 points each, putting them firmly in the lead of the rest of the pack. Way to go, guys. 4/8/08: March was a dead month for this game, but quite the opposite as far as celebrities are concerned. April started off with a bang though, with Charlton Heston kicking the bucket on the 5th. Sixteen points went to The Unknown Pervert, Voyeur32, Robbie, Billy Bathgate, barrybrn, and Bauer024. 2/27/08: Deaths are few and far between this year, but Nietzsche seems to be the angel of death. He vaults into the lead by being the only smartie-pants to pick William F. Buckley for 18 points. And here I thought he died a few years ago. 1/20/08: The cherry of death has been popped! Joey Starr started us out on January 11 with the death of Sir Edmund Hillary. Also, Nietzsche, Harri Patel, greg, and professorwolf are all on the board after the passing of Suzanne Pleshette yesterday at the age of 70. Too bad we all missed Brad Renfro who would have been major points. Twenty days into the contest and 4 people are tied for the lead, with Joey in 2nd place while the rest of us play catch up. 1/1/08: We have 23 players, up from just 15 last year.
